Location, location, location: Stonington Vineyards is perfectly located for both the grapes and those who come to enjoy them. The winery is on a sunny hillside within the northern boundaries of Stonington, at the eastern end of the Connecticut shoreline, near Stonington's historic town center, and only a short drive from Mystic and Mystic Seaport and the casinos of Foxwoods and Mohegan Sun. The sunny hillside is planted in Chardonnay, Cabernet Franc, Gewurtztraminer and Vidal Blanc grapes that produce wines that are yours for tasting every day, seven days a week, year round. Show up at 2 pm for the free educational tour of the winery. An even better plan: bring a picnic lunch and enjoy it in the sun at one of the winery's open-air tables, preferably along with a bottle of Stonington Vineyards wine.
