Charlton Orchards Farm & Winery is a working farm on US Route 20 8.5 miles east of Old Sturbridge Village (map). Stop for a bit of the real farm experience and to sample their fruit wines and ciders; baked goods including home-made pies; honey, jams, jellies and relishes; or to buy their steaks from pasture-fed beef, and eggs from naturally-nurtured chickens. Charlton Farm has been here since 1733, and in 1999 it opened the Obadiah McIntyre Farm Winery, which now produces 20 varieties of wine made from grapes, apples, blackberries, Damson plums and other fruits. The winery is open every day in summer, with more limited hours in winter. Charlton Orchards Farm & Winery
